Book Marketing Advice

With over a decade working in book marketing, I have a lot of advice to share on all aspects of the publishing industry. I know what advice people need to hear, because my clients and writer friends ask the same questions over and over. So I occasionally pass this advice along to others. If you want to get in on it, sign up below.

What you don’t get if you sign up

I don’t have the time or energy to read weekly–or heaven forbid, daily–emails, much less write them. So if you’re wanting daily tips that fill your inbox, go elsewhere. I only email when I have something useful to share, and even then I am a busy woman. These emails are to stay in touch with my clients and associates, not to bombard your inbox. Expect to hear from me as a nice surprise.

Do you want the thrill and excitement of urgent messages? Do you get a little dopamine rush from an all-caps subject line that starts out “LAST DAY TO GET SPECIAL OFFER…”? Alas, I don’t do those kinds of emails either. If you don’t click on the email today, it will probably be just as relevant tomorrow too. I know, I know, fewer people will click if I don’t make a ruckus. But fewer people will be annoyed, and I don’t want to be raising anyone’s blood pressure.

In fact, I’m not going to be emailing you about “special offers” at all. If I have a new feature, discount or flibbertigibbet, I’ll throw it in at the end of an email that actually has relevant and useful advice. Because that’s what you’re signing up for, and I take my commitments seriously.
